Napa County Law Library

The Napa County Law Library is organized under California Business and Professions Code sections 6300, et seq.  The Law Library is required to have a Board of Trustees to make decisions regarding the policies of the library and expenditure of the money received from a portion of Napa Superior Court filing fees. 

The members of the Board of Trustees serve without compensation.  Monthly Board meetings are typically  held on the first Wednesday of every month from 12:15 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. in the Historic Courthouse, 825 Brown Street - Third Floor, in Napa. 

The meetings are open to the public and the agenda and meeting minutes are available below.

Unless otherwise noted, the Law Library Board of Trustees meets the first Wednesday of each month at 12:15 p.m. in the Historic Courthouse, Third Floor 825 Brown Street, Napa, CA 94559.  The public is welcome to attend.

• The Law Library is a reference library only, therefore materials may not be removed from the Law Library at any time. 
• Books must be returned to proper shelves after use.
• Avoid extended or loud conversations and silence cell phones; please step out of the Law Library if you need to make a call.
• Be aware of your personal property.  The Law Library is not responsible for items that are lost, stolen, or damaged in the Law Library.

• The Law Library reserves the right to have Court Security inspect briefcases, backpacks, purses, packages, and outer garments for library materials at any time.

• The Law Library is monitored by video surveillance equipment and all activity is recorded.

Public Access Terminals

The Law Library has three public access terminals.  Each terminal has access to:

• Odyssey – the Court’s case management system
• Dissomaster
• Limited internet access to approved legal websites
• Westlaw

Printing and Photocopies

• To print from the public access terminals in the Law Library, the print output is in the Civil Records Center (Room 119).  Documents may be picked up at the counter.  Print and copy charges are as follows: 
  • • Court case management system -- $.50 per page
    • All other printing -- $.15 per page
    • Photocopies are $.10 per copy.  The photocopy machine accepts coin (nickels, dimes, and quarters – no pennies) and bills (ones and fives only).
